A statutory first offender was fined 10s. in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. AIAINTENANGE CASES. DEFIANT VETArthur Bull, who has already served terms ol imprisonment lor disobeying the terms of a maintenance order, appeared again on a similar charge. Mr P. Jones, maintenance officer, asked that Bull should be sentenced to rant suspended so long as ho kept payments up. On September 11 an order was made for £2 ss. when the defendant failed to appear. He applied for a rehearing, and this was granted. A ter hearing evidence , the Magistrate decided to leave the original order unaltered, and the defendant was ordered to filul a security for £IOO.
