HURRICANE SEAS IN CHANNEL.

LONDON, October 13Abnormally high titles, combined with hurricane seas and u fierce gale, left a trail of damage along the south coast of England. Scenes witnessed at Folkestone, Sandgate, Seabroke and Hythe were unequalled in. the last quarter of a century. The tremendous force of the waves made a breach in the outer wall of Sandgate C'astlc. which is 40ft thick at the base. The occupants of neighbouring houses, several of which were battered by the waves, had terrifying experiences, and were forced to fleeThe main coast road between Folkestone and Hythe was flooded at intervals to a depth of nearly five feet. A gigantic: wave smashed in the side of a carriage of a troop train on the Admiralty Pier at Dover. Three soldiers and two porters were severely injured. All shipping traffic has been suspended .
