THE MOTOR CARNIVAL.
BOX PLAN OPENS ON MONDAY. The box plan for the grandstand at Sockburn racecourse o.n the occasion, of the big Motor Carnival on Labour Day will open at the Canterbury Sporfcs Depot, High Street, at 9 o’clock next Monday morning. Those who had the pleasure of witnessing previous motor speed carnivals will have vivid recollections of the thrills provided by them. Tt is ' gratifying to know that Allan M oorlham. the popular onelegged rider, whose riding was characterised by such dare-devilry on those occasions, will bo competing again. He will have some formidable competitors in Percy Coleman, “ The Speed King,” L. Maugham. L. C. AToncltman, A. T. Bell. W. J. Claringbold and others. The training try-outs show the champions to be in their very best- form, and the keenness shown a.ssures exciting close finishes. Absolutely the finest collection of motor riders ever assembled at one meeting in Xew Zealand will be competing, and the middle and heavy-weight championships will be worth going a long way to see.
