PARAMOUNT WEEK.

A PHENOMENAL SUCCESS. Basing his remarks upon that surest of all indications, the personal experiences of exhibitors. Managing Director John AY. Hicks, Junr., is happy to advise that the Third Annual Paramount Week has been a complete and boundless success (says “ Every ones,” Sydney). Fired not only by the success which attended the event last year, and the lucrative rewards reaped by the three foremost exhibitors of Australasia, the exhibitors of all States and New Zealand this year plunged into the week with the fixed determination of having every one of their patrons support them to the limit. Even now there is a steady flow of

entries for the Exploitation Competition coming in. and the sincerity ol purpose, together with ingenuity shown in them arc most commendable. Full and graphic accounts accompany each and every one, and more often than not these are accompanied by the exhibitor's own personal opinions of the spirit in which Paramount Week was received. A consensus of opinion, advises Mr Hicks, is that Paramount Week very markedly stands out above all other weeks as something of particular moment, and picturegoers are impressed with the fact that if one week is paiticularly sot aside, and heavily advertised, both in the Press and the ex hibitor’s theatre, then the pictures shown during that week must all possess considerable merit. From now until the end of October. which is the last date for sending entries to the Exploitation Competition, the sorting of the entries will be carried on, so that very early in November the announcement of the prizewinners will be made, and the winning entries given due publication. In addition to all of which the name of every entrant into the competition, whether a prize winner or not, will receive due and commendable mention. So it will be readily seen in just what extensive degree was the Third Annual Paramount "Week a complete success.
