WRITING COMPETITION.

FOR FIFTH STANDARD PUPILS. The second writing competition pro moted bv the “ Star” is for Fifth Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. The competitors are requested to write the following verse on ordinary writing or exercise book paper : Yet, remehiber. England gathers Hence but fruitless wreaths of fame, Tf the freedom of your fathers Glow not in your hearts the same. Competitors should mark their entries “Writing competition.” and send them to the Editor of the “ Star.” Entries must be received by October 13. The present competition is open to all Fifth Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. Prizes will be 10s. ss. and 2s 6d. The assistance of teachers will be appreciated in these competitions.
