The French steamer Berville went ashore at Falmouth. As she got afloat she was rammed by an unknown steamer which disappeared in the fog. The Brobonne. belonging to the same company as the Berville. was also rammed by an unknown steamer of about J 0,000 tons. She was badlydamaged, and sank near the Manacles. The crew -were saved. The French steamer Nicholas Norbert of Boulogne reported that she had been in collision with an unknown steamer off Penzance. The Norbert is leaking badly. The unknown steamer was apparently the Charbonnier of Havre. The latter is aground off Penzance. Collisions off the Goodwin Sands included the British steamer Mokta, which rammed and sank the schooner Florence. Only the cook out of the Florence’s crew was saved. The Greek steamer Bassilion Destounin crashed into the Norwegian steamer Bill of Christiania. Tugs had to tow both to Dover.
