THE MINING DISPUTE.
WORK IS AVAILABLE UNDER AWARD. With reference to the coal mining dispute on the West Coant, Mr T. O. Bishop, secretary of the Mine Owners’ Association, Wellington, makes the following statement; — ■'lt is ridiculous for the union leaders to claim that there is a lock-out, as work is available at all mines under th.» terms of the Arbitration Court’s award, and miners can earn higher wages than any other workers whenever they caro to resume. 9 ’
AN OFFER TO THE MEN.

The employers state that the earnings of the West Coast miners at the four of the mines affected for six months prior to the stoppage were: — Millerton, £2 3s lid daily net; Denniaton, £1 2s lid; Westport Stock ton, £1 7s «ssd ; Paparoa. £1 11s O^d. Mr T. A. Bishop states that there is no obstacle to the men returning to work on Monday, provided that they are willing to work under the existing arbitration award.
