NORTH ISLAND DAMAGE.
(Pek Pkess. Association.) MASTER.TON, May 11. Floods in the rivers are now receding. Reports from the back , country state that considerable damage has been done to roads by slips, while two bridges have been swept away. Some roads are through washouts and slips, and traffic has been held up. Verv large areas of country were under water yesterday, but as the livers are receding the anxiety of settlers is decreasing. It is feared that much stock has been lost.
