FRANCE APPREHENSIVE.

FEARS OF OFFENDED BRITISH FEELING. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.—The Times ■■ Service. (Received May 9, 9 a.m.) PARIS, May 8. It is learned authoritatively that the French Government would have preferred a joint reply, but this was impracticable, seeing that Britain was not involved Sn the occupation ef the Ruhr, to which the essential passages of the German Note referred. The hope is expressed that British public opinion has not boon offended by France’s action. Some apprehension is felt lest the action should result in a joint Br.tish-Italian reply, which would weaken the Entente, especially in view of the King’s visit to Rome.
