I FIRST RECITAL TOMORROW. A particularly interesting programme will he presented by Air Andre Skalski. the celebrated Polish pianist, at his first recital in tlie Choral Hall to-morrow evening, and it is safe to say that music-lovers will accept with avidity thi* opportunity of hearing the distinguished pianist interpreting some of the world’s greatest ccmposei-s. The programme to-morrow night will comprise the following:—J wo Rhapsodi®* (Op. 79) (Brahms) : Pastorale and Capri ccio (Scarlatti) ; Two Fragments from Richard Wagner’s music dramas; Isolde s Love Death ” (Liszt); ‘ Wotan’s Farewell” and "Fire Music” (Brassin); Berceuse (Chopin): Walt?: in K Minor (Chopin): “ Rigoletto ” Paraphrase (Liszt); Melody (Rachmaninoff) ; Prelude in G Miner (Rachmaninoff) : Study in O Sharp Alirior (Scriabin) ; Prelude and Nocturne for Hand Only (Scriabin ): Dream of Lovw (Liszt); and Twelfth Hungarian Rhapsody ” (Liszt). The art of Liszt) in a different style of ootnpe-m----fion was illustrated by Mr Skalski in tho Legend.’ To the interpretationi Mr Skalski brought all his powers of expression, supported by a perfect technique. But if the grandeur of these compositions and of the Brahms Rhapsodies appeals to the audience by their strength and majesty, an equally strong appeal was made by the Chopin numbers, which Air Skalski invests with rare delicacy and charm.” The box plan? for the two recitals are now open at t-he Bristol Piano Company, where seats may be reserved.
