LIGHT BRIGADE HERO’S STORY. By Telegraph—Preßs Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 4, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 3. The death is announced of W. Penmngton. who took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimea. He was a trumpeter, but denied that he sounded the charge, as the cavalry went into the Valley of Death on a verbal order. No trumpet note was heard that day.
