GROWERS SEEK REDUCTION (Per Phf.ss Association.) WELLINGTON, May 3. At the meeting of the Dominion Executive of the Farmers’ Union to-day, a letter was read from the Minister ° r Agriculture with reference to the practice oi deducting lib per cwt. on wool sold. 'I he Minister stated that the matter was receiving the close attention of the Government and the High Commissioner, who had interested himself specially in the question. Tho Minister regretted that there was no immediate prospect of bringing about the abolition of tho practice. The High Commissioner however, would continue to do his best, and lie proposed to get the Government representatives in London of every British Dominion interested in the matter so that united representations could be made. It was decided by the executive to approach the Y\ oolbrokers’ Association with the view of endeavouring to get a reduction in the charges to be met by farmers in connection with wool sales.
