CAR STRIKES CYCLIST.
RIDER ESCAPES INJURY. A letter carrier named IV. J. Rix had a narrow escape from serious injury about 12.20 to-day. He was cycling along Colombo Street towards the Square and when he reached the intersection of Gloucester Street he was struck by a motor-car driven by Mrs J. W. K. Lawrence, of Jackson’s Road, Fen dal ton, who, in turning east into Gloucester Street from Colombo Street, knocked Rix off his cycle. He managed to throw himself clear of the car which, however, ran right on top of the cycle and had to be backed cuff.
