PIGEON FLYING.
CANTERBURY CLUB. The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club recently flew a young bird race from Waikari. Ninety-four birds were sent, divided amongst fourteen owners competing. The birds were liberated by the fitationmaster at, 1 p.m. in fine weather and a strong nor'-west wind, which caused the birds to jolt, ur> fast times. Tbe winner was P. Chambers s No. -<503, which flew the distance of forty miles 1199 yards air line in 46inin 5-tsec. The following is the result:— Yds per min. P. ChambersE" No. 605 . 15-J6 H.
