DISPOSAL OF TRANSFERS

The first count, figures and the total are official, the others being gleaned from unofficial sources. Two cases, that of a ' Citizens’ Association candidate and i that of a Labour Party candidate are i quoted, and the figures show how many of their second preferences the other candidates received. The position given is that which existed at the conclusion of the e.’ghty-fourth count. A notable feature is the slow manner in which the independent candidates have made ground. The preference transfers quoted are only two of the many that have been made, and the figures, therefore, do rot account for the totals now standing against the names of the candidates.
