LITTLE HOPE FOR SAFETY THE MGSSAMEDES DISASTER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (R-eceived May 1. 9.20 a.m.) CAPE TOWN. April 30. Little hope is entertained for the safety of the missing boats from the Mossamedes, especially in view c tT the fact that one boat was seen to capsize on the afternoon of the second day.. Owing to the heavy seas and strong wind no help could be given. The captain of the Port Victor, in an interview, expressed his surprise that the ship was abandoned, as when lie saw her she was lying apparently ->n sand and was fairly level. ITe believes that she can be salved.
