LABOUR CONFERENCE.
AFFIRMS “ RED ” OBJECTIVE. B/ Teiesranh—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, April 30. A joint conference between delegates of the Australian Labour Party and representatives of unions, reaffirmed the “ Red,” or Socialistic objective adopted at Brisbane in 1921, The conference resolved that a plank be inserted in the Labour platform making it a criminal offence for outsiders to take the place of strikers during a strike, punishable by imprisonment up to six monthsthat the registration of loyalist unions formed since the 1917 maritime strike lie cancelled; and that ’ members of trades unions, while locked out. receive full maintenance. These decisions will be remitted to the annual conference, to be hold in June.
