THEFT OF LETTERS.
HAUL FROM SYDNEY POST OFFICE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian aad N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY. April 30. During Saturday night fourteen bags of registered letters and parcels were rifled at the Parcels Post Office in Central Square. The thief apparently was aware that there was no all-night staff employed on Saturday, .and secreted himself in the buildihg prior to the closing. The bates were ripped open and a number of letters opened. Those con* taining cheques were thrown aside, but it is believed that two hundred others, besides a large number of registered parcels, are missing. The mail was awaiting dispatch to imer-State and foreign destinations. This follows a similar occurrence in February, when twenty-five bags were rifled.
