He was accompanied by his wife on what was to be the honeymoon trip. Tlie crew wasshipped at Melbourne, and consisted mostly of local men. The three survivors named are:— West. Cornish. Lindolm. Details of the disaster are meagre, thought it is not definitely stated that the remainder of the ship’s company perished, the worst is feared. It s considered possible that all escaped in boats, but the privations before they reached land may have caused the deaths of some.
