NORTH CANTERBURY SUB-UNION A meeting of tlie North Canterbury SulUniou was held in Sertoii oi. kr.nclay evening. Mr W. A. Kelcher, president, iii the chair. Delegates irom Oxford, Amberley and Kowai Clubs were present. It was decided that the expenses of all representative players should be equally divided. The secretary was instructed to write to the Cust Club asking if it was a fact that some residents of the Cust disstriet had been playing lor the North Canterbury Club (ltangiora), and to inform the club of the Canterbury Rugby Union s letter regarding- players having to play for clubs inside the sub-union s district. The. explanation of the Oxford deiegate re guiding the match last .’Saturday with IWerivale was accepted. Mr A. Burke, of Amberley. was appointed delegate to the O.K.U. iho following oli'bs notified tli .*'r intention of entering teams for the competitions, which were fixed to begin on May s:—Oxford (2). Cust (i). Amberley ■2\ Kowai (2), and Waikari. Permission was given the Oxford Club to play Springfield and Sheffield, and it was decided to ask the Ihminui Sub-union to play a return match itt an early date, l-ku-li club's affiliation was fixed at £3 3b, with a levy of another two guineas for the Referees’ A ssociati yn. On the motion of the president a motion of sympathy to the relative? of the late Mr E. ' W Marsh was carried in silence. During the evening 7'i •• si. P. M’lver. the secretary, was presented with a gold Maltese cross suitably inscribed. In making the presentation Mr -Kelcher eulogised Hie recipient for the very efficient way in which he had carried out his duties during his two years of office The following teams will represent the I inwood Club in its matches on Saturday ; Third grade (open) v.
