PLAGUE IN INDIA.

The heavy plague mortality in Delhi has caused a panic in the city. The :r habitants are fleeing to neighbouring villages and the streets are almost deserted. Between sixty and 100 deaths are reported daily*. The Health Officer has advised the closing of all schools and ' colleges. There were over 1500 deaths in March clone, and over 3000 since January 1. Fresh cases are being reported every The authorities hope that the heat in May will kill the epidemic. Madras also reports that the epidemic is increasing. There were 1800 fresh cases and 600 deaths last week.
