PUBLIC NOTICES. COMMISSION OF INQUIRY REGARDING THE BLIND. BY authority of the Government a Departmental Commission, consisting of Mr J. Caughley, Director of Education (Chairman). Messrs Clutha Mackenzie, R. H- Nolan and J. W. Tibbs, will be held at the Jubilee Institute for the Blind. Manakau Road, Auckland, commencing on the 20th April, at 10 a.m. All persons interested are invited to give evidence, on any of the matters mentioned in the Order of Reference giver, below. Witnesses who cannot attend per gonally may forward written statements to reach the Chairman at Auckland not later than the 19th April. Persons desiring to give evidenoe personally should notify- the Chairman at Auckland by the 10th instant. ORDER OF REFERENCE. The general condition of the blind in the Dominion; Present Educational Facilities with special reference to the J übilee Institute for the Blind at Auckland; Government grants; the proportion of blind persons who could become partly or completely self-supporting: new outlets and occupations for the blind, specially for blind women; the prevention of blindness; conditions of admission to the Jubilee Institute and conveyance of blind persons; recommendations for the training, welfare and supervision of the blind, with a view to their becoming useful, •elf-supporting citizens.
