HYPNOTISED BY PROPELLER.
AN AIRMAN’S DEATH. FATALITIES IN AIR FORCE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 6, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON. April o. An official report of the Royal Air Force records a strange mishap to an airman. He was watching the revolving propeller of an aeroplane engine while it was undergoing a test. Suddenly he appeared to be hypnotised by the whirling disc, and slowly moved upon the propeller and was cut to pieces. Doctors attributed his death to hypnotic attraction. During 1921 thirty-six officers and men were killed, being one for every 228 machine hours flown.
