HOME, March 8. r I he maltreatment of seventeen Italian workmen and a priest who wore en route to Belgium, by a crowd at Rosenheim, in Upper Bavaria, who thought they were going to the Ruhr, has led to a vigorous action by Signor Mussolini. He has telegraphed instructing the Italian Ambassador at Berlin and the Italian Consul at Munich to strongly protest against the attack. Signor Mussolini demands the ?xemplary punishment of the ringleaders, and compensation for the victims. His Note adds: “New Ttalv will not permit the maltreatment of her subjects. and will defend them, whatever the consequences.”
