Considerable dfcoussion took place at the meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association last evening, when u letter from the Lin wood Club, protesting against the method of rearranging the draw of the junior grade at the eleventh hour, and stating that the clubs match against Boys’ High School would be played under protest until the matter was reconsidered and played under similar conditions as last year, being semi-finals and finals. Mr V. L. King said the inference amongst the players was that the competitions committee had committed a bad breach in taking the action they had. The chairman (Mr R. B. Ward) said there was nothing in the rules about a knock-out competition. Mr Winsor moved that the teams with the most points be adjudged the winners at the conclusion of the present round. The motion was carried by five votes to four. and Messrs E. E. Lrrttrell and W. Simpson intimated their intention of resguing from the Competitions Committee. After further discussion Mr Winsor was granted permission to withdraw his motion and it was decided that the action of the Competitions Committee be confirmed and that in future years a definite procedure be outlined at the beginning of each season.
