GREATER CRYSTAL PALACE

MAE MURRAY AND RODOT/PTT VALENTINO IN “ THE DELICIOUS LITTLE DEVIL.” ‘‘One Week of Lore” and current record programme of motion pictures will be presented at Greater Crystal Palace for the last times this afternoon and to-night, and the world-famous

symphony orchestra, under tho distinguished conductorship of Mr Alfred J. Buiiz, will perform at both sessions. The new programme, commencing Monday, will easily maintain the high standard set by Greater Crystal Palace management, and in many respects will surpass in interest and lavishness any entertainment previously offered at the big theatre. Heading the new bill is a big Universal-Jewel masterpiece entitled “ The Delicious Little Devil.” which for lavishness of production and delightful acting will hold its own with any of the famous photoplays that have come from these celebrated studios. The delightful star, Mae Murray, has one of those radiant personalities that seems to leap from the screen. In ‘‘The Delicious Little Devil” Miss Murray plays a part that gives her the fullest scope for her charming anting and. dancing abilities, and tho way the famous ■‘Follies” star glides across the waxed floor is a show in itself. Rodolph Valentino, in support of Miss Murray, has the role of a young man about town, who is madly in love with Gloria de Moyne, the cabaret dancer with a Parisian and Continental reputation. The Delicious Little Devil ” tells of the efforts of a fair young dancer to live up to an assumed role of wickedness. She

bates to do it, but bread and butter, with a few trimmings, are dependent thereon. On tho strength of her wild reputation she becomes the rage of one of the most exclusive roadhouses around New York and lias the men at her feet in droves. Of them all she prefers young Jimmie Calhoun (Rodolph Valent mo), and finally decides he is tiie man of men for her. There is much comedy and many complications besides a gorgeous display of gowns and finery before the gripping climax comes and straightens out the course of true love as it should be. The most masterful picture that has ever come from the renowned Hodkinson studios has been founded on “ A Certain' Rich Man,” William Allen White’s world-famous novel. •• A Certain Rich Man ” is so vital and human, it rings so true and hits so close to the lives of ninety-nine out of every hundred individuals among us that it is truly universal in appeal. The spectator can fit himself into some nidi of the plot and play his part; lie will find himself represented by some character in the story. A cast of seventeen principals appear in the important roles, all fine artists who seem to realise their responsibilities in portraying characters as famous as these, and to have given their best, sineerest work. Robert M’Kini plays the title role, and a few of the foremost players in other parts are Claire Adams, Carl Gantvoort, Joseph J. Dowling, Jean Hersholt. and Lydia Knott. Howard Hickman directed the picture. A verv funny Centura comedy, the latest international news film and chapter fourteen of ‘' Robinson Crusoe ” are the supporting pictures. Following the established custom particulars of next week’s magnificent orchestral programme will be announced in Monday’s newspapers. The box plan is at
