The English impresario ex-lay Vicar ol Westminster Abbey and a tenor fcin-rer iif note, Mr Edward Branscombc, recently visited all the most important cathedrals in England in quest of a combination ol solo and choral 'singers that would worthily uphold the remarkable reputation of the "Westminster Glee Singers. After nine months Mr Branscombc returned by tli- Ruapehu a few weeks ago. and v. itb him a combination of five boys and six men. whose performance lie affirms will totally eclipse those of the former combination. The company will 'open their Christchurch season in the ( hural Hall on Saturday next. The former company of Westminster Glee Singers under the direction of Mr Mransrombe made musical history. Since then, however, much water has
