Meriol. an engineer employed in the mines, who is also a union man, testifying at the second Herrin trial, pointed out that an official of the Illinois Mine Workers’ Union was present in the court room. He alleged that the latter gave an order to kill all the mine guards who were captured dur ing the riots. The witness further testified that he saw the men led into tile woods, beaten, and shot.
