Inaugural messages from Governor Silzer, of New Jersey, and Governor Pinehot. of Pennsylvania, express opposite views regarding prohibition. Governor Silzer urged the legisla ture to pass a resolution asking Con gress to amend the Volstead Act to legalise beer and wines, while Governor Pinehot declared above all else to keep Pennsylvania dry. Each declared Ins policy, dictated by the public opinion of the State.
