(Received January 17, 9„30 a.m.) LONDON, January 16. Lady Elisabeth Bowes-Lyon is high spirited and clever. She is devoted to the hunting field, and is an accomplished hostess, having acted as chatelaine of Glam is Castle during her mother’s illness. She charmed all byher tact and vivacity. Lady Elisabeth is a close friend of Princess Mary, at whose wedding she was a bridesmaid. Both her sisters are married, one being Lady Elphinstone and the other, Lady Rose Leveson-Gower. The newspapers are delighted at the Prince’s marriage with an English woman, insisting that the day of diplomatic marriages is over, and alliances with foi*eign courts are no longer sought.
