M’LACHLAN—SMITH. St Michael’s Church was the scene of a charming wedding this afternoon, when Aliss Thelma Smith, second daughter of Air and Airs A. F. Smith, Cashmere Hills, was married to Mr Archibald AFLaeldan. sixth son of Air and Airs A. AFLachlan. Dovleston. Tin: Kev W. P. Hughes performed the marriage. ceremony, and Airs Lowe provided appropriate music. Girl frienos of the- bride bad daintily decorated the church in pink and mauve. The bride, who was given away by charmeuse, made on long lines, with dainty sleeves and a waterfall sidepanel of exquisite Limerick lace. Th ? wide swathe 1 belt was of charmeuse, terminating in a long sash end fhiishc : with a heavy silken tassel. The court train was of charmeuse liued with georgette, a corner being composed of l imerick lace. Hie lace veil was a ranged, in mob cap style with a half circlet of orange- blossoms at the bacA of the head, and she carried a shower bouquet- of white rosebuds and sweet pca-s. Her sister. Miss Rita Smith the chief bridesmaid, wore an exquisite frock of palest- apricot charmeuse. made on long graceful lines, with sleeves and side panels of radium lace. The waist was defined by a most uncommon girdle of flowers and fruit in delicate shades of rose, lavender, lemon and silver. Her hat to match was en tirely composed of tiny petals in georgette- with outstanding bows of radium lace. Alias Rosina Atkinson, the other bridesmaid, wore a similar fiock. her hat was of lace with bows of georgette and thev both carried Virtrrian posies of deep apricot rosebuds The two little train-bearers. Kura and Joy Smith, sisters of the bride, wore dainty petal .frocks of white georgette with shirred girdles embroidered in gold, and hairhnnds of white tissue petals touched with gold. Air Bona id Ronaldson acted as best man, and Mr Douglas Af ax well was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception confined io near relatives, was held at- tho residence of the bride’s parents, 107. Haekthorue Road. Cashmere. Tho drawing room had been prettily decorated in pink and mauve. Airs Smith, wore a handsome gown of navy marrcaine. with a swathed waistband an i panels of georgette ornamented with latticed embroidery. Her hat was of mole georgette- and lace with a crown of aigrettes, the upturned brim being lined with henna, and she carried a bouquet of deep crimson roses. Airs AJ’Lachlan, the bridegroom’s mothcwore a smartly tailored costume in srxe blue cloth, handsomely braided in black, and a large black bat. and she carried a bououet in soft tone of pink. ATiss Hazel Al’Lachlan wore a nsvv costume braided in blade oi;"' hr* id arid a black hat. and Aliss Mavis Ai’Lachlan chose a pretty nigger brown costume, braided in brown, and a bate match. Alias Una Al’Lachlan wor-» a chic little frock of pale, pink crepe do chine with a. pink and mauve girdle, and a black hat with a large pink flower. When Air and Airs AU Lnclilan left on their wedding tour, the bride wove an extreme! v smart model gown of navy gtfrbadine over black satin. It was braided in black and the turn-ba-b collar was of crimson and black striped satin, the belt buckles being of crimson to match. Her hat was a wide upturned shape in navy ribbon taffetas with an outstanding bow and a pretty crimson hat pin.
