THE KING’S SECOND SON. His Royal Highness. Prince Albert Duke of York, is the second son of his Majesty the King. He was horn on De cember 14, 3895. He was trained _for the Royal Navy- at Osborne and Dartmouth and in due course received hi:appointment to the Collingwood. He visited the Vest Indies in the Cumberland in the spring of 1913. Appendicitis caused him to leave his ship for a time during the war. His first put; lie diitv was the opening of a rifle range in the Palace of Westminster. The Duke of York was made Knight of the Garter in December, 1916. He went in for flying in 1918. He hold* the rank of captain in the Royal Air Force, and is a commander in the Roval Navy. In 1921 he was created G.C.V.O.
