PAPAL DELEGATE WARNED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. MEXICO CITY. January 14. Because the papal delegate to/Mexico (Cardinal Fillipi) unveiled a statue of Christ in the open air. the- event being attended by thousands of Mexi-
cans, and thus violated a law of 1857, which forbids the open air celebration in public places of religious ceremonies. President Obrogon uttered a warning, in which be declared: “We make no discrimination between the religions ef Protestants aud other religionists. If they violate the laws, the Government will proceed in the same way against them. Mexicans attending the unveiling will be punished and foreigners deported.” He called Cardinal Fillipi a “ pernicious foreigner.” It is understood that Cardinal Fillipi will'be ex polled from Mexico.
