The situation is aggravated by the American Chamber of Commerce cabling President Harding and recommending delay in the remission of the Lnited States share of the Boxer indemnity until China makes satisfact- ( ry arrangements concerning its overdue indebtedness to American financial interests, and gives assurances that tlu Boxer funds will not be used for military purposes. Cheu-Chiung-ming was Minister of the Interior and of War in Dr Sun Yat Sen’s Southern Government. He is also Governor of Kvvantung and Commander-in-Chief of the Kwang tung forces.
