SCHOOL COMMITTIES.
A meeting of the St Albans School Committee was held on Thursclav; present - Messrs T. C. Moore (chairman). V.\ C. Fie welly a. Green. Jones. Dangerfield, Wright and Hillsdon, llaroeit. An apology for absence was received from Mr L. Coton. Mr C. C. Walker, of the teaching stair. who i.s now an inmate, of the Rannerdale Home, wrote thanking the committee for its expressions of sympathy. The Education Board wrote stating that Mr Walker had been granted a further twelve months’ leave of absence. A letter from the Education Board stated that tho Government had decided to reduce the incidental allowances by 10 per cent. It was decided to enter a strong protest against the Government's action, and Mr Moore was deputed to bring the matter before the School Committees’ Association. Messrs Moore and Dangerfield were instructed to wait on the Gas Company in regard to gas leakages at. the school. It was decided to invite the Chathanis children to l»c present at a picnic to be held in the school grounds on January 20. •
