A SERIOUS CHARGE.

(Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, January 13. Frances Quinn, a married woman, was charged at the Police Court with having committed an unlawful act on Eileen O’.Donoghue, which had caused her death, thereby committing manslaughter. She was remanded till January 22. Bail was allowed on her own suretv of £SOO and another surety of £SOO. The girl O’Donoghue died in Napier recently. Mrs Quinn stands remanded also on a charge of illegally using an instrument on a girl who is seriously ill in the Gisborne Hospital', and Albert Edward Harris, a sheepfarmer, has been arrested and remanded in connection with the same charge.
