AWARDS IN “ STAR ” COMPETITION. Thirteen prizes were offered by “ The Star ” for the best essays submitted by primary and second school pupils on “ The Exhibition and its Lessons.” The judge’s awards were as follow : FIRST PRIZE, £3—Margaret Blackwell, “ Waihui,” Kaiapoi. PRIZES OF 10s EACH Pearl Noonan, 16, Tonka Street, North Beach. New Brighton School. Ellen May Pattison, Secondary Department, Lyttelton D.H.S. Joseph L. Payton, Opawa School. Iris E. Fransman, 25, Graham Street, Woolston. Technical High School. Antoinette. M’Grath, St Mary’ 9 Convent School. Charles H. Mil list, Harewood School. Dorothy May Caldow, Christchurch Girls’ High School. Maude Chandler, Harewood School. Greta Andrews, 17. Antigua Street. Addington Convent School. Winifred Davies, New Brighton School. The first three eseays are published in this issue. Prize winners who sent merely school addresses are requested to send their proper addresses to the editor of “ The Star.”
