PROSPECTUS FOR APRIL CONTESTS. The prospectus for the thirteenth annual festival of the Christchurch Competitions Society, to be held in April next, lias been issued Several new features have been introduced, and it is interesting to note that there will be three choir contests. The senior event is for choirs with a. minimum of twenty-six voices, and the second con test is for choirs with from sixteen to twenty-six voices. The competitors in each of these contests will sing an anthem and a hymn. The junior contest is un entirely new item. In it the choirs are to be composed of singers of under sixteen years, the minimum number of voices to be sixteen and tho maximum thirty. The test items in this class will be a two-part song and an action song. Provision is also made for a children’s, chorus competition. The programme includes seven championships in elocutionary, vocal and instrumental classes. A special class this year will l>e vocal solo for ladies for the Alice Gunner Memorial prize, for which a medal valued at £lO has been donated. Altogether there are 130 classes f<»- intending , ompeti
