Mr John Hutchison, of Timaru, is visiting Christchurch. The guests at Warner’s include Mr IC. T. Bavthorp, Dower Hutt. The Hon E. P. Lee left for Oamara by the express this morning. Among the arrivals this ljiorning bj' the ferry steamer were Mr G. H. Scott and Major Taylor. Mr J. M’C. Dickson, M.P. ('Chalmers) was a passenger from Wellington by the ferry steamer last night. Mr Malcolm Ross, of Wellington, arrived in Christchurch this morning, and is going on to the Mount Cook Hermitage. Mr H. A\ . Urii, M.P., who has been a patient at Christchurch Hospital for some time, is reported to be making gradual improvement. Mr A. G. Henderson, manager of the “ Lyttelton Times ” Company, arrived in Christchurch this morning after a short visit to Wellington. Dr J. C. Bradshaw, organist at the ( athedrai, who has been on an extended holiday trip to the Old Co*intrv arrived back in Christchurch to-day/ Mr H. F. Ault, who has passed the B.A. examination of t-l>e University of New Zealand in Hebrew, has now completed the course for the degree. Mr H. W. Nixon, editor of the Thames “Star,” and formerly of Christchurch, will leave New Zealand this month to take up his permanent residence in Australia. Mr W. W. Dunsterville has been appointed editor of the ‘New Zealand Farmer,” Auckland. During the past twelve months, Mr Dunsterville has been acting as the South Tsland representative of that journal, with his headquarters in Christchurch. He was formerly on the staff of the “ Press.”
