LARGE CROWDS. On Saturday night the huge buihli was crowded by young and old. Thcsu stalls which were selling goods which could be used at the Christmas peri l 1 did much business, and all the purchasers appeared to be. more than sat' fied. The entertainments of Saturday found favour with the people. In tho afternoon a number of Maori children from Port Levy appeared hi native costume and gave, a number of hakus and part-songs.' They repeated the performance in the evening. A very pleas, ing feature of the evening entertainment was the display given by the Moorhouse Avenue gymnasts. under Mr Charles Bnckett. the music for the display being provided by the Woolstou Band. The attendance for the dav was 5000. To-night the Moorhouse avenue gymnasts will give another display. Miss MacDonald’s orchestra acting as the On Saturday next the children* •* Christmas revel will be held, and Is will entitle each child to admission and a free present.
