The annual meeting of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants’ Union Sick Benefit Society was hold in the guards’ room on -Monday night. A large number of members were present and Mr S. ('. TCeech was in the chair. The balance-sheet, committees’ and auditors’ reports were adopted. It was -decided to credit each full member with 3s. instead of paying same out as dividend, so that they will not have to pay subscriptions for Deeernlier. The best thanks were given to collectors lot* their good work during the year. The election of officers resulted as follows President : T. Turnbull ; vice-presi-dent : H. H. Milne; secretary: H. The retiring president was then presented with a medallion for liis past services to the society. Mr 8. C. Keech thanked members for their token of good will and said that he would he proud to wear it. He was glad that the society recognised the casual hands and gave them the same rights* to get to the top of the tree as the regular hands.
