MAORI ELECTIONS.

POLLING TO-DAY. Polling for the election of the four Maori representatives in Parliament is taking place to-day. For the Southern Maori seat, whic-.i embraces the whole of the South Island, tlie principal polling place i the Christchurch Courthouse. and there are about thirty other polling places scattered throughout the Island. There are five candidates for the seat, as follows: 'Urn. H. AY R. MacDonald, P. H. . . R. Barrett, AY. D. . . . Ind. Waitin'. R. A. . . . Lib. Erihana, T. M. . . . L.R. * Sitting member. Polling was quiet this morning. The poll will close at 4 o’clock this afternoon, and the result will probably known at about six o’clock.
