The Detroit police have just discovered an unusual defalcation, by an employee of the Ford Motor Company, and have obtained the confession of the timekeeper, who stole tor the purpose of maintaining deserving boys at the University. The defalcations total 10.000 dollars The timekeeper came to know two students who worked in the Ford plant in the summer time. They declared that lack of money during the term would keep them from the University, so he took their time cards and con tinned to claim their pay weekly, which he forwarded to them. The theft was successful, and he therefore obtained the time cards of nine other men, who had left Ford’s employment, and drew their weekly pay. which he also partly appropriated to his own use. The students have made partial re stitution.
