It is understood that the report of the Sale of Honours Commission will be most drastic. It will recommend firstly that a committee of Privy Councillors examine the Premier’s list before it is submitted to his Majesty,, and secondly, that the payment of money for the purpose of obtaining honours be made a penal offence. The Sale of Honours Commission was sot up iiiter certain disclosures had been made regarding the alleged payment of large sums of money for the purchase of peerage*, baronetcies and knighthoods.
