Duties on liquor at present rates will provide two and a half million pounds per annum—sufficient to pay the co.3t of all the above national services. If Prohibition comes, where are we to look for this money ? More taxation on necessities, of course. Can you afford to pay more for the everyday needs of daily life ? A lot more; if the taxation goes on to tea, that commodity will co£t vou Bs. 6cl. per lb.; if on to sugar, that will codt lOd. per lb. This taxation is at present only paid by those who can afford it. It is a Voluntary Contribution Any revision o/\ the tariff would press more heavily on the workers .
