STRANDED BRITISH SEAMEN
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. By Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright (Received December 4, 10.15 ami.) SYDNEY. December 4. It lias been explained that the Eng lisli seamen were stranded in Sydney through the Seamen’s Union barring their admission. They were on tho verge of being repatriated at the ex pense of the Commonwealth. The condition of the repatriation of distressed seamen is that there must be no work offering in the port where they are stranded. It is contended that when the Union Company invited volunteers to join the Makura, the English seamen had no alternative but to accept, irrespective of what their inclination was.
