CARGO FOR AUSTRALIA.

There are no developnients at Lyttelton to report , with regard to the shipping trouble. In spite of the fact that the seamen are still on strike the boats are running practically as if conditions were normal. The W aihemo. which sailed on Saturday for Australia via southern ports, lifted a large quantity of cargo, in eluding oats, flour and pollard, which was held up at Lyttelton as a re«uir. of the trouble. She will also lift- cargo at Timaru and Dunedin. An official ol tiie Union Steam Ship Company stated to-day that the Waihemo had taken practically the whole of the cargo for Australia held up at Lyttelton, and he expected she would also take tho bulk from Timaru and Dunedin. At present there was little cargo offering for Australia. In reply to a question, the official said that he did not know when the W aikouaiti would be dispatched for Australia. She was at present discharging a cargo of coal at Lyttelton, and when the discharge was finished she would be docked for cleaning and liev annual survey. He did not know when she would be ready to sail, because for cne thing a crew had not yet been ob tained for her. Some local merchants are anxious to know the .sailing date of the Waikouaiti. because they consider they could do further business with Australia in bran and pollard if they give buyers on the other side some definite informa lion as to when the stuff would be shipped.
