United States secret service men arrested a man, formerly a resident of Los Angeles, having in his possession a hag of spurious Bank of England notes, totalling £93,500. The secret service obtained information through the passing of £6OOO of counterfeit English currency in California. It is understood that a counterfeiting gang lias been manufacturing spurious notes in the United States, intending to circulate them in the British Dominions, since the police in England report that no attempt was made to circulate the counterfeits there.
