WHO STARTS ON LONG WALK IN FEBRUARY.
-Mr B. S. Alpe. formerly of C'hristhureh and now of Wellington, is to ■mbark on a Too mile walking tour on •Vbrnary 12, 1923. He will start from -hristeiuirch. and will walk to RanUora on the first dav. The route at-
tor that lies through Cheviot, Kaikoura, Seddon, Blenheim, Picton, Nelson. Westport. Reefton. Greymouth, Hokitika, Ross, the Otira, and back to Christchurch. The object, of the tour is to collect funds for the blind, Mr Alpe will be accompanied on his tour by two motor cars, which will carry collectors, officials, and two boy buglers. The collections are to be made en route, and it is expected that the tour will last three weeks.
