way Sinclair, of Ayr Street, Lower Riccartcn, who was accompanied by his son, Mr. John Galloway Sinclair. Mr. Daniel Sinclair was thrown clear of the car a few yards past t-ie crossing*, and was killed instantly. His son was thrown clear a few yards further along on the other side of the lino, and received injuries from which he died in hospital, without regaining consciousness. The chassis of the car was carried 400 yards, and had to be lifted oft the cow-catcher when the express was brought to a standstill.
